Internet users’ perceptions of information sensitivity – insights from Germany

摘要: Abstract With the ever-increasing collection of user data, online privacy becomes an urgent matter for users and research across borders. The perception information sensitivity is central to attitudes behaviors in different usage contexts. In questionnaire, n = 592 German internet evaluated how sensitive they perceive 40 data types. evaluations revealed this study are compared results from US Brazil (Markos et al., 2017), order understand cultural impact on evaluations. Additionally, we analyze demographic characteristics sample influence individual level. Some distinct differences between Germany, Brazil, can be observed, but rank orders types very similar countries, indicating that there a consensus what constitutes nations. On level, disposition value privacy, risk propensity, education level sensitivity. findings contribute understanding design communication strategies inform manage their carefully.
