摘要: ABSTRACTAmerican Foulbrood Disease, caused by the bacterium Paenibacillus larvae, is one of most destructive diseases honeybee, Apis mellifera. Our group recently published sequences 9 new phages with ability to infect and lyse P. larvae. Here, we characterize genomes these larvae phages, compare them each other sequenced putatively identify protein function. The phage are 38–45 kb in size contain 68–86 genes, which appear be unique phages. We classify into 2 main clusters singleton based on nucleotide sequence identity. Three show similarity while remaining 6 do not. identified functions for roughly half proteins, including structural, assembly, host lysis, DNA replication/metabolism, regulatory, host-related functions.
