摘要: Abstract The interpretation of a hydrogen quadrupole spectrum is complicated by the collision narrowing phenomenon exhibited these lines. profile must be accurately computed for use within any interpretative technique since spectroscopic features line and center to limb variation equivalent width are sensitive shape. Dicke profile, which assumes that shape Lorentzian with half-width varies inversely as pressure has been suggested simple alternative Galatry profile. In this paper, we present comparisons center-to-limb lines characteristic scattering nonscattering atmosphere, where shapes. Our computations show results produced may very different from predicted shown give in good agreement experiment. We therefore conclude it invalid approximation computing collision-narrowed profiles at visible near infrared wavelengths atmosphere.
