摘要: This paper tests several hypotheses on mass-level Euroscepticism, including whether it is driven by: (a) feelings about national institutions, (b) distrust of supra-national (c) fears the loss identity, and (d) personal interest-based utilitarianism. In contrast to prior research, I find that attitudes European integration appear by EU institutions rather than institutions. Furthermore, a perceptual measure utilitarianism appears be stronger predictor support for previous analyses have claimed. But also that, consistent with past exclusive identity biases Europeans against integration. Finally, investigates causal linkages across these key constructs.
