摘要: THE importance of progesterone in adrenal function has been emphasized by a number investigators. Beall and Reichstein1 isolated small amount from extracts, more recently Hechter others2, using the perfused cow gland, showed that is an important intermediary metabolite for synthesis corticoids. While work reported here was progress, Klopper et al. 3 demonstrated presence pregnanediol urine ovariectomized women, but not ovariectomized, adrenalectomized women. These, other workers4, have inferred these cases origin. The following results support this conclusion inasmuch as they show gland can secrete progesterone.
