摘要: A system and method for monitoring vibrations of a machine tool metal-cutting insert interpreting them to promptly detect the initial touch workpiece signal stop advancing before marring surface. The generated by sensor such as an accelerometer is preprocessed eliminate lower frequency noise energy in higher band, then sampled analyzed digital circuitry. In order avoid false alarms on high amplitude spiky pulses traverse operation tool, alarm delayed longer than maximum duration pulses. Two techniques are given ignore spikes while still detecting signal.
