摘要: Active Galactic Nuclei (AGN) are axisymmetric systems to first order; their observed properties likely strong functions of inclination with respect our line sight. However, except for a few special cases, the specific inclinations individual AGN unknown. We have developed promising technique determining nearby by mapping kinematics narrow-line regions (NLRs), which often easily resolved Hubble Space Telescope (HST) [O III] imaging and long-slit spectra from Imaging Spectrograph (STIS). Our studies indicate that NLR dominated radial outflow can be fit simple biconical models used determine bicone axis, hence obscuring torus, present analysis 53 Seyfert galaxies resultant 17 clear signatures outflow. model results agree unified in 1 NLRs inclined further toward sight (LOS) than 2 AGN. Knowing these NLRs, thus accretion disk and/or torus axes, will allow us how vary as function polar angle. find no correlation between disks host galaxies, indicating orientation gas is independent disk.
