摘要: A method and associated apparatus for determining the bandwidth or transmission rate of a desired type cell in stream occurring over digital communications network connection during time interval between occurrences first second predetermined event. The cell, such as an Asynchronous Transfer Mode (ATM) Available Bit Rate (ABR) user may be measured only when certain conditions exist, eliminating unnecessary calculations from being performed. Furthermore, determined immediately upon occurrence events, providing real-time feedback analysis to test measurement and/or nodes. In ATM ABR environment, example, this enables implementing system compare actual calculated accordance with present invention at which was transmitted by source node, identified resource management (RM) control stream. Such information then provided virtual nodes backward-going RM subsequent use future One implementation is event-based determinator successive available bit Here, cell. one more channels paths network.
