摘要: Abstract Single crystals of potassium hydrogen phthalate (KAP), a semi-organic compound, have been grown by slow evaporation method at room temperature from aqueous solution in the presence divalent metal ionic impurities Ba2+, Ca2+ and Mg2+. Elemental analysis inductively coupled plasma optical emission spectroscopy (ICP-OES) proves incorporation these into crystals. Powder X-ray diffraction studies confirmed phase formation ions doping KAP Thermogravimetric-differential thermal (TG-DTA) shows onset decomposition temperatures to be 255, 238, 251 250 °C for pure, Mg2+ doped respectively. Microhardness revealed that all three improved hardness values than undoped crystal. Ca-KAP crystal exhibited highest second harmonic generation (SHG) conversion efficiency 16 mV with output power nearly half standard dihydrogen phosphate (KDP) The were also subjected Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy, ultra violet–visible–near (UV–NIR) dielectric studies. Among investigated ion impurities, seem positive influence on growth, mechanical, thermal, SHG characteristics which makes it suitable applications.
