Transition towards a Knowledge Society: Malaysia and Indonesia in Comparative Perspective

摘要: Malaysia and Indonesia see themselves as being on the way of developing into knowledge societies. Indonesia's political leadership only vaguely circumscribes characteristics this new stage development. Malaysia's elite has, however, developed a vision when how to reach fully industrialised nation with knowledge-based economy. This paper outlines basic features society analyses some social cultural preconditions well consequences in reaching society. It finally attempts answer question, far have advanced towards comparison other European Asian countries.
