摘要: Objective: To assess the association between Ala54Thr genetic polymorphism of fatty acid-binding protein 2 (FABP2) gene with insulin resistance and obesity. Research Methods Procedures: According to a sampling scheme based on BMI, 33 adult obese women (BMI ≥ 30) 30 normal-weight > 18.5 < 25 kg/m2) were recruited for this study. Women chronic inflammatory diseases or acute pathology excluded. Glucose, insulin, leptin, lipids, tumor necrosis factor α (TNFα) measured in fasting plasma samples. Insulin was estimated through homeostasis model assessment method. The allelic variant determined by polymerase chain reaction, followed restriction fragment-length analysis. Results: Thr54 allele more frequent than nonobese (47.0% vs. 31.7; p = 0.08). Among women, higher TNFα concentrations found when comparing Thr54/Thr54 genotype (30.0 ± 7.1 pg/mL) either Ala54/Thr54 (21.2 8.4 Ala54/Ala44 (20.1 7.0 (p 0.05). In addition, leptin levels among homozygotes compared other genotypes 0.05). Discussion: Our results suggest that FABP2 is associated obesity resistance. effect might be mediated elevated production TNFα.
