摘要: Context: A transformational change in engineering education culture is required to address ongoing issues such as declining interest and a lack of diversity the student cohorts profession. This must go beyond transforming educational pedagogies; organisational cultural necessary shape perceptions about society. The creation Engineering Practice Academy at Swinburne University Technology provides opportunity intentionally construct guided by set espoused values that can be used define guide emergent culture, inform decisions made development Academy. Purpose: paper describes process co-constructing within Approach: Espoused were co-constructed project stakeholders through facilitated workshop. workshops included individual tasks, reflections sharing, collective discussion facilitate construction values. Results: five were: collaboration with empathy, honesty transparency, equity diversity, sustainability practice and, excellence - individually collectively. are being all aspects Academy's evaluating selecting potential initiatives, generating an ethical partnership policy selection external partners creating attract support diverse staff cohort. Conclusion: Values-based decision making has been shown empower individuals from levels organisation make well useful recruitment retention students. Values present novel resource for informing between Universities, industries, community.
