摘要: Nowadays, infectious and oxidative stress-related diseases are leading to many deaths worldwide. Tetraena simplex, a new species (synonym) that is mainly grown in Oman, has traditionally been used as medicine for asthma. This study aimed assess antioxidant antibacterial activities of T. simplex extracts various polarities using 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) agar gel diffusion assays. Among the six prepared, ethyl acetate extract showed highest activity hexane lowest activity. Antioxidant decreased order > dichloromethane water butanol methanol hexane. Similarly, activities, indicated inhibition zones, at four concentrations were assessed against two gram-positive bacteria (Streptococcus pneumoniae Staphylococcus aureus) three gram-negative (Escherichia coli, Klebsiella pneumoniae, Proteus bacilli). No tested any concentration. Therefore, may be an or food supplement alternative synthetic drugs.
