摘要: OBJECTIVE: The fiber dissection technique involves peeling away the white matter tracts of brain to display its three-dimensional anatomic organization. Early anatomists demonstrated many and fasciculi using this technique. complexities preparation execution have led neglect method, particularly since development microtome histological techniques. Nevertheless, is a very relevant reliable method for neurosurgeons study details features. METHODS: Twenty previously frozen, formalin-fixed human brains were dissected from lateral surface medial surface, operating microscope. Each stage process described. primary tools handmade, thin, wooden spatulas with tips various sizes. RESULTS: We exposed studied myelinated bundles acquired comprehensive understanding their configurations locations. CONCLUSION: complex structures can be more clearly defined understood when used. This knowledge incorporated into preoperative planning applied surgical strategies. Fiber time-consuming complex, but it greatly adds our features thus helps improve quality microneurosurgery. Because other techniques fail provide true internal brain, reestablishment as standard recommended. (Neurosurgery 47:417‐427, 2000)
