摘要: Intricate predatory strategies are widespread in the salticid subfamily Spartaeinae. The hypothesis we consider here is that spartaeine species proficient at solving prey-capture problems also novel problems. We used nine from this our experiments. Eight of these (two Brettus, one Cocalus, three Cyrba, two Portia) known for specialized invasion other spiders’ webs and actively choosing spiders as preferred prey (‘araneophagy’).
