摘要: Sintered porous yttria-stabilized zirconia and composite ceramics with zirconium silicate are surface glazed by Laser-Assisted Microwave Plasma Processing (LAMPP). Suitable process parameters for glazing determined those ceramics. The plasma is monitored means of pyrometry optical emission spectroscopy. In order to prove the quality characterize hot corrosion resistance, tests molten vanadium pentoxide performed. After 4 h exposure, penetration depth salt investigated as a function ceramic composition pre-treatment glazing. Upon testing non-glazed ceramics, reacts selectively yttrium oxide, forming vanadate, causes crack formation in due transition monoclinic zirconia. results LAMPP-glazed show, that surficial melting phase achieved because temperatures exceed 3000 °C. Hence, dense, crack-free hardness-enhanced layer achieves better resistance compared Due LAMPP-glazing, ingress reduced from 33 7 μm 104 17 μm ceramic. Reactions microstructural changes taking place upon LAMP-Processing discussed.
