摘要: Diagnosis of femoroacetabular impingement (FAI) is increasing, yet the associated physical impairments remain poorly defined. This morphological hip condition can cause joint pain, stiffness, impaired function, and eventually osteoarthritis. exploratory study compared coordination deep muscles between people with without symptomatic FAI using analysis muscle synergies (i.e., patterns activity groups activated in synchrony) during gait. Fifteen individuals (11 males) (clinical examination imaging) 14 age- sex-comparable controls underwent testing. Intramuscular fine-wire surface electrodes recorded electromyographic selected superficial muscles. A non-negative matrix factorization algorithm extracted three which were groups. Information regarding together group (FAI synergy vector) was used to reconstruct individual electromyography compare Variance accounted for (VAF) by less control (94.8 [1.4]%) than (96.0 [1.0]%) (p = 0.03). VAF obturator internus significantly higher (p = 0.02). reconstructed or vector (p < 0.01). Following reconstruction, quadratus femoris more reduced (p = 0.04), indicating greater between-subject variability. Coordination related early swing differed phase involves movement towards position, has relevance interpretation differences potential clinical importance. © 2016 Orthopaedic Research Society.
