摘要: Abstract An easy and effective preparation method has been achieved for the fabrication of core-shell-structure (h-BN)/SiO 2 composite powders. Ammonium hydroxide (NH 4 OH) was used as a catalyst. Silica (SiO , ~50–100 nm) coated on surface lamellar hexagonal boron nitride (h-BN, ~5–10 μm) particles via hydrolysis condensation reaction tetraethylorthosilicate (TEOS). The resulting powders were characterized using XRD (X-ray diffraction), SEM (Scanning electron microscopy), EDS (Energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy) TEM (Transmission microscopy). A completely compact uniform SiO coating binds tightly to h-BN particles. In addition, effects temperature molar ratio H O NH OH between TEOS results are studied. processes reveal that nucleates grows first By adding instead solid-lubricant Al 3 /TiC, microstructure, fracture-toughness flexural strength noticeably improved.
