摘要: AISI 4340 steel is an alloy of nickel, molybdenum, and chromium with medium carbon content. It known for its high toughness the ability further enhancement in strength by applying heat treatment condition. used aircraft landing gear, oil gas drilling, automobile industry general engineering industries to manufacture heavy duty gears, shafts, pins, spindles, couplings, chucks etc. As it a hard machine material so many researchers are taking keen interest study effects different machining environments aspects on performance 4340-grade steel. The present paper presents comprehensive review important associated grade using cooling cutting tools. Experimental theoretical observations tool wear, surface roughness, life, residual stress, force temperature types inserts under distinguish also been discussed.
