摘要: Abstract We examined in a controlled study whether psychologic disturbances men with peptic ulcer disease were related to other potential "risk factors" (serum pepsinogen concentrations, cigarette smoking, and intake of alcohol, aspirin, or coffee). Psychopathology general, personality features hostility, irritability, hypersensitivity, impaired coping ability (low ego strength) each correlated significantly serum concentration patients (p ≤ 0.005). Cigarette smoking alcohol aspirin increased but unrelated psychopathology. Depression was the variable that best discriminated from nonulcer controls; negative perception life events, number relatives ulcer, I also had major, unique discriminating value, whereas played relatively minor role independent variables examined. Our supports concept several interacting factors (psychologic, behavioral, genetic/physiologic) are likely involved disease. Emotional stress may predispose ulcers by producing gastric hypersecretion, as manifested hyperpepsinogenemia.
