摘要: Abstract The relationship between sustainable urban development and environmental sustainability is crucial to every strategy of transformation, renewal regeneration. In particular, regeneration entails programmes transformation that involve the rehabilitation existing parts a city, re-use previously built-up area abandoned buildings, redevelop blighted spaces increase sustainability. Few studies have evaluated real outcomes effectiveness in terms physical variables such as newly provided green spaces, access public transportation, climate change or seismic-risk reduction. This paper proposes method for spatially quantifying benefits regenerating areas with reference factors, reduction seismic risk, accessibility diversity land use. Each aspect by spatial indicators, calculated at different geographical units steadily size, order understand effects single number concurrent areas. work focuses on municipality Catania (Italy), high-density context, general lack high levels risk exposure. Results show positive can be extended from contiguous relevant portions even limited produce benefits. These rely combination characteristics environments which they are located, population density, presence/accessibility services, land-use diversity.
