摘要: Current cancer therapies are highly toxic and often nonspecific. A potentially less approach to treating this prevalent disease employs agents that modify cell differentiation, termed 'differentiation therapy.' This is based on the tacit assumption many neoplastic types exhibit reversible defects in which upon appropriate treatment, results tumor reprogramming a concomitant loss proliferative capacity induction of terminal differentiation or apoptosis (programmed death). Laboratory studies focus elucidating mechanisms action demonstrating effectiveness therapy,' now beginning show translational promise clinical setting.
