摘要: The proton resonance spectra of a number alternant aromatic hydrocarbons are reported. With the exception benzene and pyrene, two or more signals were obtained for each hydrocarbon. A probable assignment spectrum compound is given, this was confirmed anthracene phenanthrene by deuteration. non-alternant hydrocarbon azulene also presented. observed nuclear magnetic cannot be interpreted on basis symmetry considerations $\pi $-electron density, but readily explained in terms simple model based induced diamagnetic currents conjugated rings. calculated satisfactorily reproduce main features spectra.
