摘要: Background: Vision Therapy/Orthoptics(VT/O) is a package of treatments that enables patients to achieve the maximum level visual performance. The aim was determine effect three months vision therapy/orthoptics on best corrected acuity (BCVA), fusion, stereopsis and ocular alignment in 3-7 year old children. Materials Methods: In this randomized clinical trial study, 80 children with amblyopia and/or non-paralytic horizontal deviations were randomly divided into intervention control groups. Intervention group treated by for months. These modalities included patch, red filter, sector over minus lens, prism synoptophore exercises. Controls only patching same period. Pre post-treatment BCVA, compared. Visual performance classified as excellent (BCVA≥20/30, deviation≤10pd stereopsis≤70sec/are), acceptable deviation ≤10pd 70 3000sec/are) unsatisfactory (BCVA 10pd no stereopsis). Results: A total cases (56 girls 24 boys) mean age 5.6±1.4 years entered study. Although more improvement fusion seen (P<0.001 both groups), there significant differences BCVA between two Also difference not statistically groups, whereas each (P<0.001, groups). Conclusion: treatment can be effective improving sensory status 3 7 strabismus. Further studies larger sample sizes focusing accommodation fusional amplitude are warranted.
