摘要: Abstract We present a synthesis of the first 10 years Long Term Ecological Research project in Amazonian Forest. elucidate natural dynamics forest ecosystem processes and associated biota, its changes caused by distinct pressures selective timber extraction fragmentation. found that, for both plants animals, densities individuals distribution species assemblages are spatially heterogeneous at mesoscale, even relatively undisturbed forests, that associations with topo-edaphic variables allow prediction considerable part this variation. For biological groups whose were studied short-term, levels change composition high, these generally tune spatial environmental The impact logging on was normally moderate, around 19 needed recovering biomass tree size distribution. Continued studies to determine time required recuperation stocks pre-logging floristic composition. Selective appears be compatible biodiversity conservation, but reduction better planning road access may more important than planned intensities. Habitat-loss’ organisms is large long-lasting, since it induces loss many taxonomic species, higher mortality accelerated dynamics. There negative synergy between impacts habitat climatic changes, understanding can only obtained through long-term research.
