摘要: A monolayer and a few layers of carbon sp2-bonded networks were torn folded by the tip an atomic force microscope at steps on newly cleaved highly oriented pyrolytic graphite. It was found that preferential breaking directions folding axes are along symmetry graphite hexagonal structure. Depending exerted tip, may occur other directions. The part graphene sheet can even be stretched deformed, does not resume its original shape after release from tip.
