摘要: ABSTRACT A new holographic data storage material is currently being developed at General Electric. This based on a thermoplastic host doped with dyes narrowband absorption resonances. The dye photosensitive and irreversibly bleaches under exposure to light. reduction in concentration of the after induces refractive index variations wavelengths away from peak according well-known Kramers-Kronig relationship. approach proposed here requires different recording readout prevent erasure during readout. Samples were produced using various concentrations polycarbonate host. extensive experience th e past for optical media promises make very inexpensive. These samples characterized techniques as well spectroscopic transmission ellipsometry. results characterizations indicate that this can offer large dynamic range, but have thus far shown low sensitivity. Further work required demonstrate materials having both sufficient range sensitivity applications. We believe if condition be satisfied, will an excellent candidate high-density content distribution.
