Donor side capacity of Photosystem II probed by chlorophyll a fluorescence transients

摘要: The chlorophyll a fluorescence transient measured under high light shows typical O-J-I-P polyphasic rise. However, certain stress situations such as heat or drought stress, rapid phase with maximum around 300 µs has been observed and called K (Guisse et al. (1995a) Arch Sci Geneve 48: 147–160). Here, we show that various conditions, the appearance of K-step following dip, well lowered level (FM) attainable, can be explained by an imbalance between electron flow leaving RC to acceptor side coming from donor side. This leads stable oxidation secondary donor, tyrosine Z (YZ), possibly accumulation P680+. In case confirm this situation is caused inhibition donation YZ, which due damaged oxygen evolving complex (OEC). Finally, present model includes OEC, P680, QA QB in good agreement experimental data.
