AbstractMicrowave radiation has potential applications in the metallurgical industry although little been published on reaction of microwaves with minerals. In this paper, 40 minerals have exposed individually to microwave air ascertain their general behaviour. Most silicates, carbonates and sulfates, some oxides sulfides are transparent energy but other readily heated. Both natural synthetic jarosite-type compounds unaffected by irradiation. sulfides, arsenides, sulfosalts sulfarsenides heated consequently, fuse or dissociate prior eventual oxidation.
