An Analysis of Local Participation in Community Forestry: The Case of Tinto and Bimbia-Bonadikombo Community Forest, Cameroon

摘要: Local participation in forest management remains a fundamental challenge to be solved despite the growing political and academic interest participatory management. This study analyzed how community forestry implementation Cameroon has affected of local people using two case studies. In-depth interviews focus group discussions were main methods data collection. The findings revealed that majority members (73.3%) less informed purpose forestry. limited efforts process. creation process forests more focused on engaging influential actors rather than enabling social justice as proposed by legislation. Marginalization members, which was created resolve still evident. argues although policies are usually designed benefit privileged, outcomes most often do not match purpose. There is need for policy debates development go beyond theoretical formulation crafting mechanisms feedback systems could ensure successful follow up.
