摘要: With memories of the energy crisis fading in midst an oil glut, one can reflect with objectivity on events past two decades. Many papers published several years have attempted to analyze postembargo trends and made observations whether these new represent abberations long-term relationships or fundamental changes energy-economic interactions. This Note focuses relationship between level economic activity, aggregate energy, electricity consumption. The main points are that: (1) much departure from historical growth patterns consumption may be attributed higher prices slow growth, conditions that reversed since 1983; (2) so-called decoupling GNP does not necessarily apply GNP; (3) rates for primary inconsistent moderate if continues at a healthy pace future.
