摘要: ``Complex plasmas'' consist of electrons, ions, and charged microparticles. The latter are individually observable, allowing kinetic measurements in plasmas. Using a sudden gas pulse, traveling perturbation was initiated such complex plasma its propagation, acceleration, steepening\char22{}possibly into shock followed. experiment performed the PKE-Nefedov laboratory under microgravity conditions on international space station, i.e., cloud with very little stored (potential or free) energy thus free of, e.g., parametric instabilities. front remained remarkably smooth, microroughness order interparticle distance. observations presented interpreted.
