摘要: A file system for managing files in a storage device more optimal way by providing allocation units or clusters with non-uniform sizes. Clusters of at least two different sizes are allocated common partition device, such as hard disk drive, other magnetic media, optical media and semiconductor flash memory non- volatile memory. At the storing files. First second to first portions respectively, contain numbers sectors. One optimum cluster can be selected without knowing size advance, based on factors whether compression is performed, type, access patterns calling application, an identification application.
