摘要: We utilize a large-scale randomized social experiment to identify how co-workers affect each other’s effort as measured bywork absence. The altered thework absence incentives for half of recover the treatment status all workers in more than 3,000 workplaces. first document that employees workplaces with high proportion treated increase their own level significantly. then examine heterogeneity effect order explore what mechanisms are underlying peer effect. Although strong having is found non-treatedworkers, no significant effects workers. These results suggest pure altruistic preferences can be ruled out main motivator behavior non-negligible our sample.
