摘要: The majority of studies examining the relation between neighborhood environments and health have used census-based indicators to characterize neighborhoods. These shown that socieconomic characteristics are associated with a range outcomes. Establishing if these associations reflect causal relations requires testing hypotheses regarding how specific features neighborhoods related However, there is little information on reliability measures. purpose this study was estimate questionnaire measuring various self-reported measures environment possible relevance cardiovascular disease. consisted faceto-face telephone interview administered twice 48 participants over 2-week period. face-to-face portions lasted an average 5 11 minutes, respectively. piloted among largely Latino African American sample recruited from public hospital setting in New York City. Scales were assess six domains: aesthetic quality, walking/ exercise environment, safety crime, violence, access healthy foods, social cohesion. Cronbach’s α’s ranged from. 77 to. 94 for scales corresponding domains, test-retest correlations ranging 0.78 0.91. In addition indices presence recreational facilities, quality participation, problems examined. Test-retest 0.73 results suggested can be reliably measured.
