摘要: Using our recently reported whole body PET imaging technique, we performed studies of the skeletal system with [18F]fluoride ion in 19 patients a range malignant and benign conditions normal male volunteers. The technique produces two-dimensional projection images entire ("a bone scan"), addition to coronal, sagittal, axial tomographic system. had 13% higher lesion detection sensitivity than images. Whole is technically feasible, provides excellent quality, may be coupled more quantitatively precise kinetic (over limited regions body) when numerical estimates uptake are desired. method potentially useful clinical applications where high resolution precision particular value (e.g., accurately defining anatomic location extent lesions assessing changes metabolism on serial studies).
