Application of the Firefly Algorithm for Solving the Economic Emissions Load Dispatch Problem

摘要: Efficient and reliable power production is necessary to meet both the profitability of systems operations electricity demand, taking also into account environmental concerns about emissions produced by fossil-fuelled plants. The economic emission load dispatch problem has been defined applied in order deal with optimization these two conflicting objectives, that is, minimization fuel cost generating units. This paper introduces describes a solution this famous using new metaheuristic nature-inspired algorithm, called firefly which was developed Dr. Xin-She Yang at Cambridge University 2007. A general formulation algorithm presented together an analytical mathematical modeling solve single equivalent objective function. results are compared those obtained alternative techniques proposed literature show it capable yielding good optimal solutions proper selection control parameters.
