Analyses of Four Ball Point Pen Inks and Two Dyes by Thin-Layer Chromatography with Fluorescence Detection and Matrix Assisted Laser Desorption Time-of-Flight and Electrospray Ionization Mass Spectrometry

摘要: Ball point pen inks contain one or more dyes. Characterization and identification of dyes ball is very important in forensic document examination. Some problems may arise because mixtures give complex instrumental responses especially when are not pure substances. It true that rhodamine 6G shows three different color bands on a thin layer chromatographic (TLC) plate after separation. Fluorescent mass spectrometric analyses TLC high performance liquid (HPLC) separation provide specific results components Matrix assisted laser desorption time-of-flight (MALDI-TOF) electrospray ionization (ESI) this work cross-examined the molecular weights dye. The methods used show strong potential for characterization dyes, further analysis such as ink dating desirable.
