摘要: DECONSTRUCTING ANESTHESIA HANDOFFS DURING SIMULATED INTRAOPERATIVE CARE By Jason S. Lowe, Ph.D., CRNA A dissertation submitted in partial fulfillment of the requirements for degree Doctor Philosophy at Virginia Commonwealth University. University, 2015. Major Director: Clarence Biddle, PhD, Department Nurse Anesthesia patient handoffs are a vulnerable time care and occur frequently during anesthesia care. Communication failures contribute to harm handoffs. The Joint Commission has recognized potential communication failure recommended processes improve handoff safety. Handoffs made more difficult by latent conditions such as constraints, pressure distractions, which often result incomplete or inaccurate reports. This nonexperimental, correlation study identified that process their relationship quality handoff. research shows an inverse between scores. number
