摘要: Abstract Interoception, the sense of physiological condition body originating from within its internal organs, and image, namely perception, feelings attitudes one has about one’s body, are two fundamental components our personal identity overall well-being. However, relation between interoception image remains poorly understood. We here review recent behavioural neuroimaging evidence non-clinical clinical populations (e.g. eating disorders) to propose that basic interoceptive processes awareness may crucially contribute complex formation as well disturbances. In particular, lower accuracy associated with body-image concerns. provide a potential mechanistic explanation link which aims integrate exteroceptive representations body. The suggested can inform new empirically testable hypotheses on underlying neurocognitive central concerns disturbances, motivate relevant implications.
