摘要: Viability and fertility in organisms depend on epistatic interactions between loci maintained lineages. Here, we describe reduced fitness of segregants (hybrid breakdown, HB) that emerged an F2 population derived from a cross 2 rice (Oryza sativa L.) cultivars, "Tachisugata" (TS) "Hokuriku 193" (H193), despite both parents F1s showing normal fitness. Quantitative trait locus (QTL) analyses detected 13 QTLs for 4 morphological traits associated with the HB 6 principal component scores calculated values population. Two-way analysis variance putative identified QTL pairs significant epistasis; among them, pair chromosomes 1 12 made greatest contribution to HB. The finding was supported by genetic experiments using F3 progeny. only when plant homozygous TS allele at chromosome H193 12, indicating each behaves as recessive other. Our results support idea epistasis is essential part hybrid
