Creating Integrated Strategies for Increasing Access to Healthy Affordable Food in Urban Communities: A Case Study of Intersecting Food Initiatives.

摘要: In New York and other cities, substantial evidence documents that community food environments interact with inequitable allocation of power, wealth, services to shape the distribution diet-related diseases insecurity. This case study shows how one Central Brooklyn organization, Bedford Stuyvesant Restoration Corporation, has launched multiple coordinated initiatives in order reduce burden food-related health problems boost development. The report used standard methods document implementation City Food Fitness Partnership Brooklyn. two distinct strands activities, a Farm Early Care Program ultimately brought fresh 30 child care centers, hub sought make local more available Brooklyn, intersected reinforced each other. It also organizational, community, municipal resources policies some cases supported these others served as obstacles. Finally, strategies have potential empower low-income Black Latino communities act healthier equitable.
