摘要: Although the role of NOTCH signaling has been extensively studied in health and disease, many questions still remain unresolved. Being crucial for tissue homeostasis, is also implicated multiple cancers by either promoting or suppressing tumor development. In this review we illustrate context-dependent during tumorigenesis with a particular focus on gliomas, most frequent aggressive brain tumors adults. For long time, considered an oncogene glioma mainly virtue its neural stem cell-promoting activity. However, recent identification NOTCH-inactivating mutations some patients challenged notion, prompting re-examination function subtypes. We discuss findings that might help to reconcile controversial pose outstanding be addressed.
