摘要: OBJECTIVE Skeletal muscle protein metabolism is resistant to the anabolic action of insulin in healthy, nondiabetic older adults. This defect associated with impaired insulin-induced vasodilation and mTORC1 signaling. We hypothesized that, subjects, pharmacological restoration capillary recruitment would improve response synthesis anabolism insulin. RESEARCH DESIGN AND METHODS Twelve subjects (71 ± 2 years) were randomized two groups. Subjects studied at baseline during local infusion one leg alone (Control) or plus sodium nitroprusside (SNP) variable rate double blood flow. measured flow by dye dilution; microvascular perfusion contrast enhanced ultrasound; Akt/mTORC1 signaling Western blotting; synthesis, amino acid, glucose kinetics using stable isotope methodologies. RESULTS There no differences between Blood flow, perfusion, phenylalanine delivery leg, intracellular availability increased significantly ( P −1 · 100 ml ) CONCLUSIONS Pharmacological enhancement acid hyperinsulinemia improves effect
