摘要: Abstract This paper presents a comparative study of H2 absorption and desorption in MgH2 milled with NbF5 or NbH0.9. The addition NbH0.9 greatly improves hydriding dehydriding kinetics. After 80 h milling the mixture 7 mol.% absorbs 60% its hydrogen capacity at 250 °C 30 s, whereas takes up 48%, without additive only 2%. At same temperature, finishes 10 min, desorbs 50% content, practically does not releases hydrogen. kinetic improvement is attributed to NbH0.9, phase observed cycled MgH2 + NbF5 MgH2 + NbH0.9 materials, either hydrided dehydrided. better performance NbF5-added material combination smaller size enhanced distribution more favorable microstructural characteristics. also produces formation Mg(HxF1-x)2 solid solutions that limit achievable storage material. These undesired effects are discussed.
