摘要: Although stratum corneum (SC) hydration has been primarily of concern to the cosmetic industry, it serves an important biosensor function. In murine models, not only deiminated products filaggrin-derived amino acids ("NMF") but also endogenous glycerol from circulation into epidermis via aquaporin 3 channel and triglyceride turnover in sebaceous glands (SG) are determinants. We assessed here whether could be linked SC humans. SG-enriched sites more hydrated than SG-impoverished sites, correlates with both sebum production content, correlation is significant for content content. Moreover, gender-related differences associated altered hydration. suggesting a role non-SG-derived (? circulation) Finally, short-term water immersion produces parallel decline levels returning normal over several hours. These results suggest that circulatory SG origin comprises H2O-extractable pool influences provide rationale development glycerol-containing therapeutic moisturizers.
