摘要: Several pieces of fossil wood have been analyzed with X-ray diffraction and were grouped on the basis mineralogical composition. Various mineralizations studied in thin sections by means scanning electron microscope. Wood-opals appear to show a structure preservation that points replacement cell walls silica. The wood-opals are mineralogically characterized as 'disordered tridymite'. Other mineralizations, such chalcedony, quartz, carbonates, phosphates iron-oxydes -hydroxydes characteristics filling-in. mineralization processes discussed.
