摘要: It is known that the dorsal cochlear nucleus and medial geniculate body in auditory system receive significant inputs from somatosensory visual-motor sources, but purpose of such not totally understood. Moreover, a direct connection these structures has been demonstrated, because it generally accepted inferior colliculus an obligatory relay for all ascending input. In present study, we have used neurophysiology, double labeling with anterograde tracers, retrograde tracers to investigate projections nuclear complex. We demonstrate small cell cap ventral projection division body. These complex bypass are widely distributed within geniculate, suggesting topographic. As nonlemniscal pathway parallels conventional lemniscal pathway, its functions may be distinct perception sound. Because this links parts prominent nonauditory, multimodal inputs, form neural network through which nonauditory sensory systems modulate information processing.
