摘要: The Aeolian arc volcanic province consists of seven main islands and several seamounts in the Southern Tyrrhenian Sea. Rock compositions range from calcalkaline to shoshonitic potassic alkaline, with an increase potassium western central-eastern islands. 87Sr/86Sr increases Nd–Pb–He isotope ratios decrease potassium. Geochemical rocks Stromboli resemble closely those Campania volcanoes. Range silica contents single volcanoes reaches a maximum central Vulcano Lipari where abundant rhyolites have been erupted. These were constructed along Tindari-Letojanni strike-slip fault, tectonic feature that divides into two compositionally, volcanologically structurally distinct sectors. Active volcanism is restricted under which there active seismic Wadati-Benioff zone depth earthquake foci increasing northwestward. magmas generated heterogeneous upper mantle was metasomatised by various types fluids released Ionian subduction associated sediments. role sediment significantly Alicudi Filicudi eastern island Stromboli. Pre-metasomatic had OIB MORB-type composition, components at margins arc. rock compositional variation within reflects both characteristics parental shallow-level evolution history. In particular, occurrence silicic volcanics results extensive fractional crystallisation large shallow reservoirs developed pull-apart basins fault.
