摘要: The times of onset geomagnetic substorm activity at College, Alaska, have been used as reference to investigate ionospheric height variations for possible associations with substorms. data were obtained from routine scalings ionograms an equatorial station (Kodaikanal) and a low-latitude (Okinawa) covering the period time July 1957 December 1961. analysis, which uses superposed-epoch technique, shows that significant rises occur these stations periods sometimes in excess 12hr following selected onsets. There is some evidence suggest positive effects may contain several components. However, interpretation this fine structure hindered by presence what appears be another phenomenon consists negative displacement having maximum influence ranging 5 8 hours after times. Phenomena which, it suggested, could possibly associated are electric fields, travelling disturbances.
